I also maintain two SourceForge project:
- DOCS (the Documentum Command Shell). DOCS is a command line client interface for the Documentum Content Server, which provides navigation, execution of basic library functions, and an extensible architecture for writing additional custom commands. DOCS is written in VB .Net and utilizes the PIA to interface with the DFC. Unfortunately, this project is pretty much defunct because the PIA is no longer supported by EMC. I hope to revamp this utility in the future be a Java/DFS/REST project.
- DRX (Documentum Repository Explorer). DRX is a Java application that reports on a variety of Documentum configurations and customizations.
Dear Scott,
I am an avid fan of your book and an have drawn immense inspiration from the book “A Beginner’s Guide to Developing Documentum Desktop Applications”.
Look forward to more posts from you, it would be great if you could write some posts on Documentum Architecture, Content Server architecture, granular details of Content Server composition and its communication, installation of various documentum installables etc..
Also I read the first blog that you have penned, you could probably add SivDM (another Utility that I have used to generate various reports using predefined embedded DQLs in the utility- its interesting).
All the best,

Karthik,
Thanks for your kind comments! I’m always glad to hear from people who have enjoyed the book and found it useful. Comments like yours make it all worthwhile. Thanks for buying it!
I will put your topic suggestions on the “to-do” list and try to address them in future posts.
I forgot about SivDM. Somehow it did not make the transition to my new computer and I forgot about it. I will add it to the list.
Cheers.
