RAMP

What is RAMP? Well, if you logged onto the EMC Community Network (ECN) this past week, you probably found out. In their own words, the “Recognition, Award, and Motivation Program [RAMP] aims to materially improve the user experience across all areas of the ECN. In addition, RAMP will create a single, universal, portable status for each of us. At launch, this status will recognize activity across the ECN previously
earned as well as badge scan check-ins at EMC World. This status will showcase your expertise and competency across the community and will grow over time.”

RAMP really equates to a rework of the online point system.  I think they’ve done a great job reinventing this program with the addition of some fresh ideas like badges and missions.  The badges I find particularly interesting in that they harken back to the birth of computing by informing you that your contributions to the ECN have amounted to the amount of content first available on a 1950s vintage hard drive.  Missions also promise to be fun for those that have time to embark on them and/or are attending EMCWorld.

Here are a few links to ECN resources detailing the new program.
