Out-of-date ActiveX Controls

If you are using an older JRE and Internet Explorer to access Documentum web-based clients, you may receive the following notification starting September 9, 2014:

Java(TM) is blocked because it is out of date and needs to be updated.

Microsoft has introduced the out-of-date ActiveX control blocking feature in Internet Explorer that blocks older JRE versions. For more information about this feature, refer to https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2991000. For more information regarding which JRE versions are blocked, refer to https://iecvlist.microsoft.com/ie11blocklist/1401746408/versionlist.xml.

There are workarounds and permanent resolutions discussed in ETA 191596.

About Scott
I have been implementing Documentum solutions since 1997. In 2005, I published a book about developing Documentum solutions for the Documentum Desktop Client (ISBN 0595339689). In 2010, I began this blog as a record of interesting and (hopefully) helpful bits of information related to Documentum, and as a creative outlet.
