TaskSpace Application URLs

Have you ever “lost” the URL for a TaskSpace application? I usually bookmark it on my computer and as soon as I create it and never give it a second thought. That is until I sit down to show a tester how to login and realize that I don’t have a clue how to access my own application. It’s so frustrating. So, here is the basic TaskSpace URL so you and I won’t forget again:

http://<host>:<port>/taskspace/?appname=<application name>

where <application name> is the name of the TaskSpace application (dmc_taskspace_app).

OK, so how do you determine what the name of your application is, there is no UI in TaskSpace that lists all the applications?

In Documentum Content Server 6.0, use this query:

SELECT r_object_id, object_name, title, a_application_type FROM dm_application WHERE a_application_type = 'TaskSpace'

In Documentum Content Server 6.5, use this query:

SELECT r_object_id, object_name, title, a_application_type FROM dmc_taskspace_app where a_application_type = 'TaskSpace'

To delete a TaskSpace application, delete the folder /System/Applications/<application name> using DA. Deleting this folder should also remove the dmc_taskspace_app/dm_application object also.

I have been implementing Documentum solutions since 1997. In 2005, I published a book about developing Documentum solutions for the Documentum Desktop Client (ISBN 0595339689). In 2010, I began this blog as a record of interesting and (hopefully) helpful bits of information related to Documentum, and as a creative outlet.
