Content Management Comes to the iPhone

Flatirons Solutions announced this week an iPhone application that allows users to securely explore Documentum repositories and participate in workflows from their iPhones.  The application, iCMS, is built upon the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) standard.  The iCMS architecture includes extensible client and JSON-based server-side components. iCMS is ideally suited for organizations whose knowledge workers need mobile access to an ECM repository in order to make decisions, advance business processes and approve formally managed content.  Not only that, it is very cool!  Flatirons plans to extend the iCMS application to support other CMIS-compliant content management platforms and mobile devices, including Android and the iPad.  (Hey, what about SmartPhones running Windows Mobile?)

About Scott
I have been implementing Documentum solutions since 1997. In 2005, I published a book about developing Documentum solutions for the Documentum Desktop Client (ISBN 0595339689). In 2010, I began this blog as a record of interesting and (hopefully) helpful bits of information related to Documentum, and as a creative outlet.
